DESCRIPTION OF PIECE

I don’t go for woo-woo, cosmic freaky stuff. I mean, HELLO, I’m a jaded comedy writer from New Jersey. Then in 2018, a series of stunning “follow signs” led me to Lockerbie, Scotland with two strangers. What started out as a bucket-list trip to finally pay my respects to fellow Syracuse University students lost there 30 years ago became a life-changing, inspiring awakening about community, compassion, kindness and the power of “showing up.” With some singing, Satanic nuns thrown in for good measure. There are no coincidences… only connections. Winner: Best Score (Natl. Women’s Theatre Festival), Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

​Composer/lyricist/Jersey Girl AMY ENGELHARDT scored OBA Best New Musical nominee BASTARD JONES at NYC’s cell theatre, TRIPTYCH (NY Transit Museum Commission), her solo show IMPACT (Jury Prize: Best Score, National Women’s Theatre Festival, 2023 Edinburgh Fringe, Emerging Artists NYC New Works, Chicago Circus/Arts Festival). Amy received MAC’s Burman Songwriting Award and co-created TUNE IN TIME, New York’s Musical Theater Game Show. From 1998-2012, Amy recorded and toured as the sole female vocalist/writer in Grammy-nominated, genre-busting band The Bobs.
