About the artist

Taylor K. Corbett is a local theatre artist and the founding artistic director of Close Proximity. Close Proximity was born out of a desire to create and produce original works that give voice to those who aren't always heard. Taylor has directed for companies such as the Glass Horse Project and Reverie Theatre Group. Directing the inaugural production of A Midsummer Night's Dream for Reverie and projects like The Shape of Things by Neil Lebute and Eurydice by Sara Ruhl for the now retired Glass Horse. Notable appearences include Only the Ghosts Can Know by David Ledoux at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe as Celine, Puck in Middsummer with the Bristol Theatre Program, and Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing with Glass Horse. This show is deeply personal to her as she will share what it's like to be a queer person navigating identity and her relationship with her family.

DESCRIPTION OF PIECE:

Five coming out stories may be a few too many for some but not this show. This show combines music, storytelling, Irish music and history. Plus everyone's favorite: hand puppets! Here we ask the important questions. What is unconditional love? How do we respond to injustice? And can Spiderman come to the tea party?

Trigger warnings: Suicide, Sexual assault
