NOUN
a word, phrase, or sequence that reads the same backward as forward, e.g., madam or nurses run.

This piece is a palindrome play; meaning that the movement and speech will be the same forward and backwards, though the intention/quality of movement will change.

We will follow the merging of two lovers who are both always wrong and both always right. They are strangers to familiars to strangers. Palindrome studies the curves and crevices of the different relationships that come and go in our lives.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

​Jenna Benzinger (Also known as JB) (they/them) is a queer, disabled director-choreographer who looks to create fearless, funky, thoughtful work that is mindful of the intersectionalities of the human experience. JB graduated Brown University in 2022 with a B.A. in Theater and Performance Studies. JB’s work looks to queer traditional theater norms through a feminist lens and create explosive sensorial experiences to convey their vision. JB is a trained intimacy coordinator who loves to make art that prioritizes inclusivity and accessibility by creating art with and for historically marginalized artists and audiences. JB is currently a freelance theater educator at Trinity Rep teaching Acting and Playwriting.

​Sydney Dubitsky, is a director and artist who loves both theater and film. She has a B.A. in Theater Studies and a B.A. in Digital Media & Design from the University of Connecticut, and also attended the National Theater Institue Advanced Directing program in the Fall of 2023. When she’s not directing, you may find her in a variety of other roles, including playwright, stage manager, costume shop hand, photographer, sound designer, and many more.
