In the spirit of Sisyphus and Prometheus, Bird Jail is a musical punishment. A lounge singer, dressed as a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird, must sing of her situationship with a man, disguised as a Shoebill Stork, for eternity. Or until she learns to detach her worth from men and focus on loving herself. Whichever comes first. Until then, she’s trapped in a world of bird references and emotional breadcrumbs. Watch her suffer! And learn something new about birds! ABOUT THE ARTIST Niki Healy is a composer/lyricist/performer currently based in Rhode Island. Her latest work was the music of Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight, a musical about the life of Baroque painter Artemisia Gentileschi, with book/lyrics by Darcie Dennigan (Wilbury Theatre Group).
