DESCRIPTION OF PIECE

In 2020, with live performance venues shut down, performers from the Providence Improv Guild decided to steal the concept of a popular British panel show and stream the results online. Ever since, Wooly Shackleton has been showing up in various theaters to host "Would I Lie to You?", the show that's all about lying, telling the truth, and fooling your fellow performers. It's also 100% stolen from the BBC, and we refuse to apologize.

Players on two teams take turns reading statements about themselves. These statements are either immaculate truths or filthy lies. The opposing team must ask the right questions to determine which is which. Did Greg really take his cat to the gym to chase mice, or is he lying through his teeth? What do YOU think? Would we lie to YOU?!!?

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Providence's Unofficial "Would I Lie to You?" (WILTY) Team is a collection of improvisers assembled by producers Peter Cunis and Ian Martin. Every performance showcases six comedians and puts their skills to the test. Cunis and Martin have been producing and hosting unofficial WILTY shows since 2020. When they are not producing ripoffs of BBC shows, Cunis and Martin are both regular performers at the Providence Improv Guild. Martin currently performs biweekly with the house team "Unicorns of Circumstance". Cunis performs biweekly with the house team "Stereograham" and also performs a solo improv show called "Peter the Lonesome Boy". They are also both members of the independent improv troupe "Podslash'd".
