DESCRIPTION OF PIECE

Piggy Wants to Fly is a whimsical and tender two-hander about the meeting of a man and a pigeon. This play delights in darkness and darkens delight to reveal the quiet, profound history between humans and those grayish, blueish, greenish birds that cover our city streets. What wonder is there in all we take for granted?

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Sylvie Schuetz is a multi-disciplinary theater artists with a brand new BFA in contemporary theatre from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. She has a wild way of making up stories and believing them. Piggy Wants to Fly was first created as her senior capstone project with Elias Robles, Sage Futterman, Veronika Perez, mj sj, and Elizabeth Keller. It was devised from scientific and historical materials as well as the real stories from this original ensemble. As Sylvie continues to facilitate its growth, the piece has been touched by many other brilliant artists, creatures, images and plants.
