DESCRIPTION OF PIECE

These two short plays, titled Pod:Orca:Pod and Stupid F*cking Mutt are both about family and their conventional, and sometimes unconventional, ways.

With Pod:Orca:Pod we explore the matriarchal hierarchy of this Latine family, told through the grandmother, mother, and son of the family. Though there is matrilineal trauma, there is also a tremendous amount of love.

​Stupid F*cking Mutt is a play about a man going through the death of his dog. The constant downplaying of his grief, effort, and time is presented satirically in this play to examine how our pets are much more than just animals, and more like family members.
