ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jill S. Rucci is Founder, and Director of 8&1 Dance Company Dallas and 8&1 Dance Company East. Jill writes and produces full length productions performed by her professional companies throughout the United States. Jill has trained, taught, performed and presented her choreography in many cities including Boston, Los Angeles, Dallas, Baton Rouge, New York and Olbia, Italy. Rucci was coined by the media as a “profound creative mind, producing shows that EVERYONE MUST SEE”. She received her Dance Degree from Dean College. While dancing prfessionally she continued her education in NYC at Alvin Ailey, Steps, Broadway Dance Center and Millennium and Edge in Los Angeles and had the privilege to perform at venues such as the Joyce Theatre, AT&T Performing Arts Center, and Lincoln Center. Jill performed with Bare Bones Dance Co., choreographed and danced for New Jersey Squires and was a West African-stylized dancer with Magna BA Drum and Dance Co. Ms. Rucci performed with Contemporary Ballet Dallas for their 2010 & 2011 Seasons. She has taught and choreographed for Multiple Universities, including JWU, Richland Texas, Collin College, and Dean. Jill is proud to be working on a Launch of her Newest Full Length Stage Productions for the 2025 Season . In addition to her love for choreography Ruccis focus is the next generation; to mentor, educate and to lead by example that if you work hard enough, your dreams will come true.
